Every Unsung Heroine

I may not be appreciated as much as I deserve.

I am taken for granted on several occasions. 

I find my worth in giving to my loved ones.

I put others before me. 

 

While reading the above lines, a visual of a person would have been created in your mind; and 99% of the time it’s either the woman in your life or the woman in you. Yes you guessed it right, the unsung heroine is a Woman. 

A woman effortlessly plays multiple roles during her lifetime, fulfilling all the responsibilities every day, and in this she forgets to prioritise her own self, her needs, her emotions and most importantly her health. Be it mental, emotional or physical health, a woman puts her health on a backseat while providing the best care and comfort to people around her. Put yourself first

In your list of priorities, you need to give yourself the No.1 position, because guess what, if you do not, who else will? When you put yourself first, you are respecting your own needs and this allows you to take necessary actions. This makes you feel better about your own self and as a result, you become much better at all your other roles and responsibilities. 


Say Yes and No

Learn when to say yes and when to say no. Say yes to healthy choices, your feelings, me time and all other situations which reconnects you with your body, mind and soul. Say no to all the unhealthy choices, disrespect of your boundaries, scarcity of time, and all those people and situations who take away from being your own unique authentic self.

 

Embrace your flaws

We all have flaws. Some seen, some unseen, some small, some big. So, whatever flaws you may have, accept it, own it and then lovingly work on improving it. How wonderful it would be if you embraced your body the way it presently is and then lovingly work towards what you desire it to be. The entire journey will be filled with love, happiness and respect instead of rejection, lack of confidence and guilt. 

 

Tough Love 

When you know something is necessary for your loved ones and it must be done, you make sure it gets done. So, the same applies to you. You know that your body needs x number of hours of sleep, x time for self care activities, x time of physical activity, then it’s time to take those essential actions. Be disciplined, be consistent, be lovingly responsible towards your own self. This is tough love and pamper yourself with a lot of it. 

 

Channelize your emotions 

We all go through a lot of emotions throughout the day and when it comes to a woman, both its frequency and intensity is increased due to women's biology. So, acknowledge those emotions of yours and express them in a constructive way. Neither react nor suppress as both these ways lead to relationship and health issues, instead respond in a healthy manner for better health and harmonious relationship.
